Sharktech, the leading DDoS protection company, today announced the opening of its Amsterdam data center, bringing automatic DDoS protection to European companies’ IT infrastructure.
“European customers have been targeted with the largest recorded DDoS attacks—peaking higher than the infamous Spamhaus attack—yet Europe hasn’t many viable options for DDoS protection,” Sharktech President Tim Timrawi said. “We’ve brought Sharktech’s DDoS protection—which is proven in the United States and Asia—to Europe.”
Sharktech’s new Amsterdam facility features PCI and ISO compliance, state-of-the-art security, and 24×7 NOC services. Tenants include eBay, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Bosch and IBM. Sharktech’s customers greatly benefit by the additional point of presence as it more efficiently negates attacks originating in Europe and—when customers unify their DDoS across all Sharktech data centers— overall DDoS protection capacity expands up to 1 Tbps.
Sharktech designed its proprietary DDoS protection to take advantage of its globally-distributed network of data centers. Sharktech ’Anycast’ technology routes visitors to the nearest data center. The result is that Internet resources, on average, load twice as fast for visitors regardless of where they are located.
Sharktech’s global connectivity is demonstrated in its partnership with China Unicom and China Telecom, which elected Sharktech as the only company in the US optimized to serve Asia with the fastest pipes and DDoS protection up to 100 Gbps.
“DDoS attacks of all forms and sizes can now be stopped automatically and affordably by hosting with Sharktech or by having Sharktech protect your existing host,” Timrawi said.
